アルタイにはカイという喉歌がある。
喉歌というと、モンゴルのホーミーなどが有名だが、アルタイのカイは
喉歌自体が癒しそのものなのではないかと感じる。アルタイの人々が
大切に守ってきたアルタイの歴史が、このカイにはこめられている。

ボロット・バイルシェフはアルタイのスーパースターであり、彼のカイ

は聞く者を一瞬にアルタイの大地にいざなってくれる。それは至福の時
であり、癒しの音というのはこういうものなのではないかと、しみじみ
と感じさせてくれるものである。

アルタイと日本はどこかで繋がっていて、日本人なのに心の隙間にどん
どん染み込んでくるこの音は、日本人が忘れてしまっていて、どこかで
求めているものなのかもしれない。

何の先入観もなしに聴いたら、ココロに効いた。耳が驚いた。
怒涛の低音がブルブル響き、心臓がえぐられるような緊張感。
いまだかつて聴いた事のない、独特の歌唱方法。喉歌という
そうだが、低音も高音も絶妙に絡み合いながら訴えてくる大地の声。
アルタイ地方に伝承される不思議な世界は、これ以上ない驚きと
感動を呼ぶ。日本を含め祖先と深いかかわりを持つらしいこの地方
の歌だからだろうか、アルバムに収められている楽曲は、どこと
なく浄土真宗のお経のリズムに似ている。歌い出しと節の終わりに、
音程を変える歌唱方法、聞くたびにココロが落ち着くのは私だけ
だろうか....。
