   村に住む美しい娘ベルは、父の代わりに恐ろしき野獣の姿をした男の家に幽閉されるはめに。やがてベルの優しさに野獣のかたくなな心も和らいでいく。実は誰かが野獣を愛してくれない限り、彼をはじめ家来たちの魔法はとけないのだが…。

最初から最後まで、宝物がぎっしり詰まっているような大のお気に入り作品。ベルが歌いながら村を歩くところ・・野獣と踊るところ・・。野獣が人間に変身するところ・・。すべてが芸術的で輝いちゃってます。ブロードウェイでもミュージカルを観てきましたが、私はこちらのオリジナルの方が好きなのです。こっちのほうが野獣が不器用だから。アニメを超えてすべての映画作品の中でも、こんな名作は、なかなかないと思います。

自分の気持ちを抑えながらも相手を思う場面が多いと思うこの作品、
『優しい』ってどういう事なのかな？と思わせてくれます。
沈んだ心を動かすのは沢山の優しさと愛情。
時間をかけながら解り合える時、魅かれる意味。
何度も何度もくり返して見るうちに響いて来ます。
『愛』を感じられる物語、是非見て欲しいと思う作品です。

私は最近「美女と野獣」を見るまで、「ポカホンタス」がDisneyで一番好きでした。

一気に気持ちが変わりましたよ!これほど素晴らしいアニメはないです。
中盤でベルと野獣がホールで踊っているシーンには鳥肌が立ちました。
何と言っても音楽が素晴らしい!永遠に語り継がれる作品です。
