PKとして新しく登場した３人の主人公と既存のシナリオが上手く絡み合います。序盤は専ら交易ばっかり。あっち行ったり、こっち行ったり。弱小の艦隊を率いて、とにかく金を稼ぐ。中盤以降、艦隊も強くなり、やりたい放題…ここで、もう興が冷める。中盤以降は一体、何をやるべきか…アイテムを探すか、ひたすらに交易か…あー、やることがあるようで、ナイのが後半戦です。

主人公によっては交易をする必要もなし。
漂流状態から始まり最後には無敵艦隊をも相手にするキョーシロー、お金儲けは部下に任せておつきの女性たちと世界中を旅して回るウッディーン、他勢力への従属状態から始まるテクニカルなティアルと、一味違う３人の主人公で楽しめます。また、通常版の隠し主人公だったマリアも最初から選べ、鉄甲船などの和船も使えます。通常版よりもはるかに広い海が待っています！
