「スーパーアンカー英和・和英辞典」の電子辞典版。学生向けに精選された英和65000語・和英33000語の語彙のうち、英和辞典では、12000語に発音音声データを収録のほか、会話・対話欄を多数設けて試験対策が行えるよう考慮され、和英辞典では対話例、手紙文例をそれぞれ多数用意のほか「危ないカタカナ語」「あなたの英語はどう響く?」などのコラムが用意されている。検索エンジンとして採用している「GDBase」は、プラグインを追加して拡張することができ、マウスカーソルを当てた日本語・英語の文字列の検索を自動的に行う「ポイントサーチ機能」、Microsoft Word、Microsoft Internet Explorerからランチャーを起動することなく検索できる「一発検索機能」、同じくランチャーを起動することなく漢字入力を呼び出すことができる「漢字入力」、変換中の文字列の意味を表示する「IME支援機能」の4つのプラグインを搭載のほか、Webで配布されているプラグインを最大15個まで登録することが可能。

はっきり言って、嬉しい誤算であった。
新世紀ビジュアル大辞典をＰＣ上で使いたくて、楽しむ辞典シリーズを導入した。ソフトの使い方はいまいちでも、コンテンツに思い入れがあり使っていた。そしてどうせなら「国語辞典」も「漢和辞典」もと導入しているうちに、楽しむ辞典シリーズを引く回数も増えてきた。

そのうち英語関係の辞典も欲しいと思って探してみると、このスーパーアンカーしかない。こんな学習辞典が使えるものかと思いながら、どうしても英語の「楽しむ辞典版」が必要となり、購入した。
しかし、嬉しい誤算であった。

単なる学習英語辞典の域を完全に超えている。始まりは学習辞典かも知れないが、この語義の充実ぶり、例文の充実ぶりは、完全に予想を超えていた。今後引く回数は益々増えることと思う。
PC版として、研究社の中辞典やリーダーも悪くはないが、あるいはプログレッシブも優れた辞書と思うが、ニューアンカーも、捨てたものではない。
