これほど平凡な台詞が，これほど胸を打ち，これほど平凡なシーンが，これほどの涙を誘うとは！
人生最高の映画を見つけました．そして，サッカーファンにとっては，さらに忘れられない映画を見つけました．

　あまり評判にはなってなかったけど、好きな映画「ブラス！」の監督の作品なので気になって見てみたら、これがいい！
　同じくイギリス少年ものの｢リトルダンサー」があれだけ高評価を受けたのに、この作品があまり知られてないのは正直もったいないと言いたい。

｢リトルダンサー」の少年には才能があったけど、この映画の少年２人には何もない。あるとすれば悪事を働く才能くらい。
やってることは悪いことだらけなのに、２人に共感してしまうのはなぜなんだろう。
多分それは映画を作っている側の愛情あるまなざしのせいかもしれない。
最低のキャラクターの飲んだ暮れ親父にさえ、憎みきれない何かがある。

　ラストシーンは、思わず２人に拍手を送ってしまった。
サッカーファンであるなしに関係なく、おすすめです。

北イングランドの英雄・アランシアラーが引退を発表した。私はそのプレースタイルから彼の人柄に惹かれ、ニューカッスルの試合を見続けて来たが、もうシアラーの出場する試合はない。そんな時、以前に見たこの映画をもう一度観たくなり、DVDを購入した。
少年の頃、どうしようもない現状をなんとかしたくて欲望のままに動いてしまう事がある。その行動は、たとえ法に触れていようが、その瞬間は（生きている）実感があるものだ。事の大小はさておき、誰にでもあるその瞬間を重ねて、やがて大人になって行く。「こんな事、あったよな。」少なくとも私は愛おしくこの映画を観る事ができた。
