現在、３７歳の私にとって当時の想い出がよみがえって来る作品です。異邦人を聞いた瞬間、当時、こんなに美しい歌声、そして、こんな美しい人がいるんだと、心にしみ込んできたことを、思い出します。

1000円という値段に騙されてうっかり買って何気なく聴いておもむろに腰を抜かして下さい。その声は半端でなく美しいです。ジャケットの長辺が12cmしかない昨今の便利さえ恨めしく思えるほどの容貌です。そしてこれほどもてはやされておきながら流行を追うことなく自分の音楽のルーツを探し続け、最近は神の賛美に至っています。求道者と呼ぶにはあまりに華麗な、彼女は誠に希有な存在です。

良い音楽というものは時空を超え人々に感動を与え魂を揺さぶる。
この曲「異邦人」は発売から26年を経過してもなお鮮烈な輝きを失わない不思議な曲である。
オリエンタルな曲調、壮大なアレンジ、そしてなによりも彼女の独特の歌声がこの曲の魅力を強固なものにしていると考えられる。
この曲がこれからも人々に感動を与え光を失わないことを私は信じてやまない。
