無駄に大げさで仰々しい、でも、それは悪いことじゃない、いや、むしろそうでなければこれほどまでに崇高で荘厳で壮大で感動的な作品にはならないはず。イタリアンロックどころかプログレ自体ほとんど聞いてなかった頃の私が「題材がツァラトゥストラだから」というただそれだけの理由で興味を引かれて購入し、大ハマリしたＣＤ。この作品をきっかけにプログレ好きになり、イタリア70年代もそれなりにたくさん聞くようになったが、イタリアではやはりムゼオが最強である。美しく儚い旋律が突然凶暴になったかと思えば、今度はヘヴィな音像が急に安らかな旋律に変わる。アグレッシブでハードな音像とクラシカルで美しい旋律がこれでもかとばかりに目まぐるしく入れ代わり、息苦しいほどにドラマチック。動と静が、激しさと穏やかさが、邪悪さと美しさが殴り合っているかのような曲展開に圧倒されっぱなし。暑苦しいほどに情念あふれる歌声、手数の多いバタバタしたドラムが激しく転げ回り、ベースが地を這い、たけり狂うギターが響けば、哀愁に満ちたメロトロンが泣く。魂まで奪われそうな恍惚の世界。歌のメロディーも素晴らしく、なぜか妙に泣けるメロディーだと感じる。演歌の心を隠し持っている日本人の感性には英語よりもイタリア語のメロディーの方が合っているのかもしれない。洋楽にはあまり感情移入できない、英語のメロディーではなぜか感動が薄い…という人は聞いてみると意外と「これだ」と思うものがあるかもしれない（私はそうだった）。

なんの予備知識もなしに初めて聴いたときの衝撃といったら！

"クリムゾンキングの宮殿"を彷彿とさせるイントロで
一気に引き込まれ、その後は緩急強弱のメリハリの効いた
ドラマチック＆スリリングな展開、
分厚く、重厚な音に圧倒されっぱなし！
聴き終わった後、虚脱感を感じてしまうぐらいです。

イタリア語のちょっと巻き舌っぽいヴォーカルが

好みの分かれるところかもしれませんが
とにかく最上級のプログレであることは
間違いありません。

ヘッドホンでもいいので、とにかく大音量で
聴いて欲しいアルバムです。

アルバムの曲を聴き返すにつれ、演奏とボーカルで作り出されて行く加速感がたまらなく、づっと聞いていたいと思います。ライブなどアルバムは出ていますが、このアルバムが一番音質が良く聞き易いです。皆様も一度、手に汗握る迫力の加速感を味わって見ませんか。
