武満徹は歌謡曲が好きで、かなりのレパートリーを誇っていた。あらゆる音楽を愛していた武満の素顔がここにある。昭和前半のモダンな歌謡曲風の歌や、フォーク・ソング、童謡のような歌、クルト・ワイルばりの歌などが、いわゆる芸術歌曲にはない、シンプルで分かりやすく、優しさく温かい日本語の自然な息遣いを持った歌がある。保多さんはそんな歌を、まことに多彩な表情を持って、しかしごく自然にうたっている。個人的には映画『他人の顔』で前田美波里がうたう劇中歌「ワルツ」が入っていたのが嬉しかった。 (田中明) --- 2001年10月号

全１６曲いろんな変化があり、したたかな表現力で歌われ、何回聞いても飽きさせません。
武満独特の味とニューミュジック的な味を上手くミックスさせています。保多さんは東京芸術大学卒とあって、クラシックの発声も十分勉強されているはずですが、そういったものとは一線を画して、積極的に発声表現ともに崩して歌って入るところが「新鮮」です。
「武満」とか「声楽曲」といった「難解さ」や「高さ」は全くなく、歌の好きな人ならどなたでも聞き入ると思います。
あえて言えばＣＤの題名になっている、３番目に入っている「見えないこども」がやはり秀逸でしょうか。
最近発売されている邦人の歌曲ＣＤとしては最高だと思えます。
録音もエキサイティングで「音」や「声」を聞く人にもお勧めです。

保多は歌詞と旋律の内実をよく咀嚼してオーソドックスな唱法にとらわれず各曲を自由に歌い上げており、そのしなやかな創意に目を見張る。（ただ若干ではあるが音程に不安定な部分があり惜しまれるのだが。）これが同様のアルバムと異なる最も大きな特徴である。また、武満が晩年にギター曲全集収録の演奏者に指名したという鈴木の演奏が聴けること、これが二つめの特徴。ギターとピアノを適所に配す編曲は原曲の意図を汲みながらも武満本人の編曲とは異なる要素も持ち込んでいる。これらを自在さと見るか逸脱と見るかどうかによってこのアルバムへの評価は分かれるであろう。私は武満、作詞者（一部は本人自身が作詞）、編曲者、演奏者３名の対等な想像力の飛翔をそこに聴き取った。あざとさとは無縁の場所でこんな風に遊ぶこと、武満自身があるいはそれを望んでこれらの歌曲を遺したのかも知れない。
