　正直、あまりオリジナル・アルバムは感心しない。というのは、洗練さが増している分、「キャッチ・ザ・ファイヤ」や「バーニン」の持っている勢いが削がれている気がするからだ。この辺は、例えばボブ・ディランのアルバムで言えば、完成度は高いがおとなし過ぎる「ブロンド・オン・ブロンド」よりも、粗削りだが新しい音楽をはじめたという勢いが伝わってくる「ブリンギン・イット・オール・バック・ホーム」のほうが上だ、というのと同じであると思う。
　さて、特筆すべきはオマケ？の「パンキー・レゲエ・パーティー」である。これはスゴイ演奏だ。延々とノリにノッた演奏を繰り広げた後、まるでサラ・ボーンじゃないか、と思うくらいのスキャットがまた延々と続けられるのだ。これは正直度肝を抜かれた。
　この一曲だけのために本盤を購入しても決して後悔しないと思われる。是非一聴を。
