2001年4月発売の『red curb』のリミックス5曲に、新曲3曲を加えた作品。リミキサーには、ヴィクセル・ガーランドやアトム・ハート、インドープサイキックス、オキヒデに加え、鉄腕アトムのSEなどを手掛けた日本の音響派のゴッドファーザー、現在70歳の大野松雄氏が加わり、独自のヴァージョンを聴かせてくれている。それぞれが、もともと淡い色調で描かれていた原曲の世界を壊すことなく、別の淡い色を使って仕上げており、オリジナルと聴き比べて楽しむことができる、リミックス集としての価値がある作品だ。 (鈴木祐) --- 2001年11月号

2曲目"The Backstroke"は、オリジナルよりこっちの方が断然良い！・・という方は
多いでしょう。私もその一人。8曲目も本人によるリアレンジで、よりスペイシーで
優しい音世界を楽しめます。彼の音にハマってしまった人なら、この2曲のためだけに
でも買っても惜しくない一枚だと思います（その内品薄になりそう）。
ただ惜しむらくは部分的な音質の悪さ！肝心の2曲目なんてAMラジオかと思う
音質。意図的にくぐもった音質にしたのか、製造上のミス（実際に最近体験しました）
なのか判然とせず、その点気持ち悪いです。コンピレーションだけあって
全部が全部そうじゃないので、そこは誤解なきようお願いします。

名作「レッドカープ」の後を受けて、ハラカミ自身による新曲+リアレンジ5曲と音響／エレクトロニカ系リミキサーによる5曲を足してアルバム(2001年作)にしている。大抵のパターンとして、この手の企画ものというのは、オリジナルが良くても、いかにも片手間で作りましたといった作品としての微妙さが出てくるのが常だが、当時のハラカミの才気は止まることを知らなかったようで、自身がやった5曲の完成度は怖ろしく高い。リミックスではなくリアレンジなのがミソで、レッドカープの時より1曲単位で立っているので、ＤＪなどで使用するにはこちらのが重宝する気もする。それらの曲の間に挟まれた5名のリミックスのほうは、かなり原曲を崩しているが、それがハラカミのまとまりあるトラックがあることによって、良いバランスを生み出している。そういったわけで、レッドカーブを気に入ったら、こちらも聴いて全く損はしない出来だと断言できる。特にM8、M10は、ハラカミの中でも特別キャッチーな曲で、よく思い出しては聴きたくなる。

騙された！と思った。red curbの衝撃に酔い、Harakami中毒にかかった
私がついつい手を伸ばしてしまったremixアルバム。一般的にremixに
原作を超えるものなどあるはずも無い。
繊細なred curbの作品群を滅茶苦茶にした極悪リミキサーどもが！！
と思ったのもつかのま、良く聞くとカッコいいじゃない・・
なんの事は無い、あまりにもharakamiへの思い入れが強すぎてマトモ
な判断が出来なくなってたのね、私。
5曲目は原曲をほとんど一素材としてしか扱っていない、remixという
より別の曲、しかしfunnyでありながら凄くカッコいい、ベースの
ドライブ感は秀逸。8曲目はharakami自身によるremix、もしかして
原曲より良いかも。他の作品も聞き込むほどに好きになる。
redcurbの淡い儚げな雰囲気は薄れたものの、
きっと聞けば楽しくなるよ。
