作曲者のモリコーネ本人もいたくお気に入りの楽曲らしいが、私も負けじと大のお気に入りです。ミルバ、ミレイル、フロリンダ等が歌っているボーカルヴァージョンもありますが、しかし、なんといっても極めつけはエッダのスキャットのみのオリジナル・ヴァージョンです。それは極上のイタリア料理を前にとびっきりセクシーなセニョリータと乾杯し、やがて、・・・という展開なのです。

数あるモリコーネ作品中最高傑作ともいえる一枚です。　69年作の日本未公開作品のサントラなのですが、メインテーマはヨーロッパで何度もカヴァーされたという折り紙つきの名曲。　特に聴いていただきたいのがモリコーネの音楽におけるトレードマーク的存在、エッダ・デル・オルソのスキャット（もちろんメインテーマも彼女）が冴え渡る6曲目の“愛のさけび声”で、アンニュイかつムーディ、そしてひたすら美しい名作です。　これは全モリコーネ作品中、最高の一曲ではないでしょうか。　もしモリコーネ・ファンの方でこの曲にまだ接したことのない方は、中古ででも是非購入して聴いてみてください。
