4.0 out of 5 stars 涅槃交響曲の最高傑作, 2004/3/30
涅槃交響曲は岩城に始まり岩城に極まる、といって良いだろう。その代表的演奏がこのＣＤに入っている。このＣＤの演奏を聴く人は、まず冒頭のカンパノロジーのどろどろした分厚い音に圧倒されるだろう。まさに大きな梵鐘の響きに接することになる。つづく男性ソロと合唱も圧巻で、線香の煙にすすけて暗い大伽藍の中の密教的雰囲気に飲み込まれてしまうであろう。涅槃交響曲はいくつもの録音があるが、圧倒的なすさまじさ、という点ではこのＣＤに及ぶものはない。ただ惜しむらくは会場に咳をする人が何人か居たことである。それでも演奏が終わっても、陶酔の中にあって拍手をし忘れるほどの感動を聴衆に与えた名演である。
