ロックは、ユーモアと揺るぎない勘違いに尽きる。そういった意味で、彼らは最高にカッコいい。なにせライヴでコヤマ シュウ(vo)は、「お前らのNo.1になりたいとは思ってないぜ、バデェ! だけど、オンリー1にはなりたいぜ、バデェ!」なのだから。ちなみに“バデェ”とは、“エヴリバディ”のことらしい(苦笑)。スクービードゥーは、和田アキ子を頂点とする(?)、正統的なR&Bを日本人的なブラック解釈で昇華した4人組。もちろんザ・ヘアといったモッズ界の流れもくんでいる。で、このセカンドは、新ベーシストを迎えたことで、バンド・サウンドがよりグルーヴィで躍動的になった印象が。そして、そういったバックに煽られるように、コヤマの歌も、さらなる“俺節”を炸裂させている。プリミティヴさとスタイリッシュさの間を行き交うやさぐれた魂。オーティスといった先人たちからは完全にズレているが、彼らにはバッタもん道を極めることで、逆に王道をつかんでほしいと思う。 (兒玉常利) --- 2001年10月号

インディーズ時代の2ndアルバム。疾走感溢れる演奏と耳に心地良く残るメロディ。
それらに乗ってくるのはそこらの使い古された言葉を並べただけの歌詞とは全く違う、
愛に溢れる言葉、前向きな言葉の数々。
これらのコンビネーションが絶妙で、心をグッと鷲掴みにされる。
水平線に沈む夕暮れをバックに海岸線をドライブ、

こんなありがちなイメージがこれでもかというぐらいしっくりきてしまう名盤。
ただ録音の状態があまり良くなく、音が割れているため、
大音量で聴けないのが残念。

1曲目「勝手にしやがれ」の一音目でもうヤられる。
テンション高けぇー!!精神的にも身体的にも耳いてぇー!!

その後は、ちょいエロだったり、野蛮だったり、ハードボイルドだったりな楽曲が続々と続く。
今まで生きてきた中で確実に出会っていない音ばかりが、これでも喰らえ!と言わんばかりに、目の前に叩きつけられる感じだ。
そして、そんな楽曲達の中だからこそ際立つ、秀逸なメロウナンバー!!これはトゥルーっと飲み干したくなるような気持ち良さ!

あれこれ言うのもヤボな程、とにかく直感でカッコイイ!!聴き始めた途端にゾクゾク、ゾクゾク!!
狙ったという、古い機材や歪んで割れた音でさえ心地良くなって馴染んでくるから不思議だ。
音質が好き嫌い分かれそうなので、そこら辺は★4つで。自分は好きだが。
