ニュー･ソウル世代のメランコリックなコズミック･サンバ、ノンポリを標榜しつつも、軍政権下のブルーズ＆バラッドがバリバリ。
それにしても "Abre Alas"！ こんなに繊細でタフな曲、久し振りに聴きました、音楽聴いててホントに良かったと思わせられる1曲です。
クラブともブームとも関係なく、いつまでも自分にとって大切な音楽を見つけたい人のための音楽です。

　ブラジルには、ジョビンを筆頭に、フランシス・ハイミなどなど、米英圏にはない優れたメロディ・メーカーが多いが、イヴァン･リンスはその筆頭株だ。彼の作る、繊細でマイナーな感じの曲調が、とくに好きだ。

　本作は、通産４枚目で、ＲＣＡに移籍してからのファースト。すばらしい旋律の宝庫だ。
　ジャケットのセンスもいい。
　オルガンのヴァギネル・チゾという人は、ウエイン・ショーターの「ネイティヴ・ダンサー」にも参加していた人。アレンジ／コンダクト／ギターのアルトゥール・ヴェロカイは、最近、「アンコール」という悶絶もののサード・アルバムを出し、日本でも国内版が販売されている(VIA-0064)。

　個人的ベストは「Abre Alas」「Chega」。
