   かつての恋人でもあった人気ロック・シンガー（ダイアン・レイン）が暴走族（ウィレム・デフォー）一味に誘拐されたことを聞きつけ、彼女を救出するため街へ舞い戻ってきた流れ者トム（マイケル・パレ）の活躍を描いた青春アクション映画。「ロックンロールの寓話」という文字だけ記すと身もふたもないが、実際にヴァイオレンス・アクション映画の鬼才ウォルター・ヒル監督ならではの、スピーディかつエネルギッシュな映像感覚がフルに発揮された、1980年代を代表する快作に仕上がっている。

   勧善懲悪的キャストの熱演も、逆にシンプルで心地よい。特に、主人公に協力する元女兵士（エイミー・マディガン）がダントツのかっこよさ。劇中熱唱される数々のいきのいいヴォーカル曲も、それぞれドラマの勢いにさらなる拍車をかけてくれているすばらしさ。（的田也寸志）

今となっては人気スターが出ているわけでもなく、見逃している人はもう見る機会がないのかもしれませんが…それは極めて大きな機会損失です。マイケル・パレ？誰？って感じですが、この映画ではもうダントツの格好よさ。クラーク・ゲーブルを超えてます。主人公トムの水際立った登場からもう目が離せません。超痺れまくりの２時間、まだこれを見てない人は幸せモノ。
この手の映画では珍しく、まだ保守的だった８０年代キネマ旬報でもベストテン入りしてました。

以前、ＬＤの頃に持っててディスクが擦り切れる（？）ほど見てました。ＬＤからＤＶＤに換えたときに泣く泣くソフトも手放しました。すぐ発売になるだろうと思って。結構長い間待たされましたね~。
ロックンロールな雰囲気が大好きです。ラストのダイアンレインのステージは最高ですね。洋楽の中で一番好きな歌でもあります。今度は手放しません！
