   アレグサンダー・ケイの小説『残された人々』をベースに1978年にNHKで放送された、宮崎駿が初の演出を手がけた傑作SF冒険アニメーション。核兵器を超える兵器を使用した世界大戦のため、人類は絶滅の危機に瀕した。それから20年後、よみがえりつつあった世界で生まれ育った少年コナンが、少女ラナとの出会いをきっかけに新しい世界へと冒険に出ていく。

   第2巻は第3話~6話を収録。ジムシーと出会い、ダイス船長率いるバラクーダ号でインダストリアへ乗り込み、行政局長のレプカたちがなぜ太陽エネルギーを欲するのかを知り、捕らえられるまでを描く。重たい物語を背景にもちながらも、キャラクターの明るい雰囲気や描き込まれた軽妙な動きがすばらしく、実に楽しい冒険ものとなっている。（田中 元）

旅立ったコナンが仲間を見つけます。
「あいこだな」「うん、あいこだ」のセリフは仲間としての証。
ストーリーを通して出会う登場人物ともほとんど出会い、ここからの冒険がどうなるのかワクワクします。
仲間とは何か。「しょうがねぇなぁ。やるよ。やりゃいいんだろ？」といった一つ一つのセリフが本当に
考えられているなあと感心したり。

宮崎駿の冒険活劇のルーツ、第二段。おすすめです。

作品の面白さは言うに及ばず、とにかくＤＶＤ黎明期に発売されたこの作品のＤＶＤＢＯＸとの段違いの画質の良さに全巻買いなおしました。ＢＯＸを購入されている方も是非一度見てみて下さい。驚きますよ。

コナンの盟友、ジムシーの登場です。
コナンは銛が得意。ジムシーは弓矢が得意。
二人でかけっこなどあらゆる運動で争います（とってもコミカル）。
最後には「あいこだな。」「うん、あいこだ。」の言葉で仲間になります。
人間は仲間なしには生きていけません。
宮崎監督の若き時のパワー全開です。
