This is brutal. The third album from East Coast band Vision of Disorder, From Bliss to Devastation doesn't let up on the anger or relentless riffing for one second, thrashing and groaning their way through songs such as the turbocharged "Living To Die" and the dark "Sunshine", sounding like a demented cross between Slayer and Marilyn Manson. "Every single motherf****r wants a piece of your ass," they roar, but they won't give any quarter. The title track could put Cradle of Filth to shame, "Downtime Misery" is just plain scary, and despite Matt Baumbach's claim the band have been getting deep into stuff such as Portishead and the Beatles recently, there's certainly little evidence of a pop influence here. Imprintと違ってハードコア色とヴォーカルのスクリームがかなりなくなった　
ただのヘヴィーロックもしくはB級Alice In Chainsに堕ちてしまった

発売当時は本当に驚きました。
「ＫＯＲＮと間違えて買っちゃったかな？」
本当に疑ったものでした。
前作までの音楽性とあまりに違います。
それまでのスクリームを抑え、メロディを歌い上げているのです。
しかも、ギターの音作りを聞き取りやすく、ドラムの手数を減らして、とにかくヴォーカルを聞かせるつくりになってます。
メロディ重視の音像のため、聴きやすいといえば聴きやすいですが、
衝撃度は若干低いです。

しかし、やはりＶＯＤ。
#1 LIVING TO DIE
は、わかりやすく、かつカオティックな展開というお家芸を聴かせてくれるし、タイトルチューンの
#6 FROM BLISS TO DEVASTATION
は、ティムのジムモリソンの影響を受けた、絶望的な絶唱は衝撃的です。
そして、何といっても、絶品なのは
#13 WALKING THE LINEです。悲壮、悪夢、そして希望。
ボーナストラックが非常にいいできなので、（#14が代表曲の再録なのですが、このＣＤに入っているヴァージョンが一番イイ出来だと思います。）
購入するなら、是非日本盤をオススメします

約３年ぶりの新作ですが、内容としては前作「ＦＯＲ　ＴＨＥ　ＢＲＥＥＤＥＲＳ」がやや上か！？
とは言いながら星４つです、５でも良いかなーって感じですが前作と比較したらってことで。
とにかく全曲魂こもってます、これぞハードコア！ＮＥＷスクール好きも大満足！車運転中はテンションが上がりすぎてスピード違反で捕まるので避けましょう！（実話）

意外に思われるかもしれませんが、ギターがしっかり聴かせてくれるので、ＨＣはシャウトで五月蝿いだけやんって人も改心せざるを得ない・・・かも？
あなたの想像以上の音を、一度体感してみては！？
