これは購入致します。
２００１年度盤再発もいつの間にか廃盤、
ヤフオクでは常に高値でした。

胸を突き刺すような『ＢＬＵＥ　ＬＥＴＴＥＲ』で始まる、
ＭＩＸＥＲボブ・クリアマウンテンとのＮ・Ｙ３部作第一弾。
発売当時、斬新なジャケットにドキモを抜いたが、
聴こえてくる音がまた凄かった。これが世界のトップレベルの音楽か、と。
発売当時、当方まだガキで本当の良さが解らなかったが、
２５年の時を越ても視聴に耐えうる音作りをしていたのだろう。

布団を被り、雑音まじりでの
ＮＨＫーＦＭ水曜日『サウンドストリート』を聴いていたのを思い出すなぁ。
オープニングに掛かっていたプライベートスタジオヴァージョンの
『ナイトウェイブ』がボーナストラックに収録されているのも○。

ボブ・クリアマウンテンという人はただのエンジニアではなく、アーチストなのだろうと思う。最初から最後まで「音」が飛び跳ねている。音の響き方、楽器の表情が彼独自の感性で演出されているのだ。たとえば『観覧車』のイントロのドラムの響き方は圧巻である。銃声のようでもあり、雷のようでもあり、とにかくドラマチックなのだ。甲斐バンドの艶っぽさや、歌の持ってるエネルギーがボブ・クリアマウンテンという「音の魔術師」と結びついて、『虜』という最高傑作を生んだのだ。日本のロックの名盤としてずっと発売され続けて欲しいと思う。

甲斐のすべてのナンバーの中でも最も好きな4ブライトンロックが入っているだけで最高なのに、1~3、5，9等名曲が満載！ＬＰ当時の変則ジャケットを是非、紙ジャケで再現してもらいたい！
