別段激しくも無く、速くも無い音楽ですが、
一線を越えた重さがあります。
世界の終わりの様な音楽。
表現し難い、視界が意識が朦朧としてくる破滅的なメロディ。
こんな音楽はNEUROSISしか創れないのではないでしょうか。

大地を揺るがすバンドサウンド、這いずるようなグルーヴ、風になびく枯れ木のようなヴォーカル、どれもスゴイ。音楽がどこへでも行けることを証明してくれるバンド。「ただ速いだけ」、「ただ重いだけ」ましてや「楽しけりゃいい」なんてスタンスのそのへんのバンドとは次元が違いすぎ。

このバンドとTOOLは確実に作品を出すたびに進化しているであろう。このバンドを難解な音楽やら曲が長いとかぬかす野郎どもは、ただ単にたいして音楽を好きでない嘘っぱち流行へヴィネス。キチンと向き合えば難しくも何ともない。今作ではNEUROSIS初心者がその暗黒精神世界に入るいいチャンスになる作品でもあり、だからと言って聞きやすくなったと言ってるわけではない。今までよりもメロディーに重点が置かれており、初めて｢歌」と言える物が入っている。と言ってこの世の物とは思えぬ激重深海暗黒精神サウンドが軽くなった訳でなく、もはや前人未到の所まで来てしまった。毎回違うアプローチをみせ、進化し、この音楽集団にはいつも驚かされる。別格。
