NUMBの川瀬夏男主催による、現在のハードコアのバイブルともいえるコンピ。CALUSARI、B.D.UNION、LOYAL#THE#GRAVEなど、全国各地から勢いのあるバンドが集結。

昨今の日本のハードコア・シーンの隆盛は目を見張るものがある。ただし、単に上辺だけをなぞったようなバンドが増えたのも一方で事実だろう。本来的な“ハードコア”とは何なのかといえば精神論にもなってくるが、独自イベントを企画するなど精力的な活動を見せる重鎮NUMBが中心となって構成された本作は、幾多の同様コンピレーション・アルバムとは一味違う。2枚に分けて、ニュー・スクール系サウンドの30バンドが集結し、それぞれ1曲ずつ提供している。当然、未知のバンドも少なくないものの、実際に収録された楽曲からは、“厳選”されたマテリアルが並べられている印象だ。また、注目すべきは各者の活動拠点だろう。東京はもちろんのこと、札幌、盛岡、横浜、富山、浜松、名古屋、豊橋、岡崎、岐阜、京都、大阪、奈良、徳島、小倉というように全国各地にまたがっており、アンダーグラウンドなネットワークの強さも象徴している。高い心意気を感じるサンプラーだ。 (土屋京輔) --- 2001年09月号
