東京少年は何か好きそうなイメージだったが
リアルタイムでは聴いてなかった。

曲自体はちゃんとした「作品」になってる…
僕が10年前ならこの評価しなかった。
笹野みちるは何かしらの苦労はしてるヒトだ
今でも充分聴ける内容だよ！！

４曲目のサイレント・メビウス〜セイリングがアニメ主題歌だったからか、
1991年浪人時代、予備校の前のローソンでよくかかってました。
帰り道も進む道もよく分からない時代の私のＢＧＭでしょうか。
ＣＤを改めて聴くと、30過ぎても「俺、変わってへん、成長しとらん」事を
突きつけられるいい作品です。
安定した「目標」のない今と、不安で先が見えなくても「目標」があった時代
どちらも不完全。
成長しとらんですな。けど、明日をもう一度信じられる曲がいっぱい。
社会人必聴は「でくのぼうが泣く」ですね。
立ち止まって周りが見えない時、聴いて下さい。

大学時代の親友Yは、「めぞん一刻」の一刻館のようなボロアパートに下宿していた。
私が遊びに行くと、彼は2回に1回は東京少年のCDを聴いていた。
彼の部屋は2階にあった。
1階の玄関を開けた時、2階から流れてくる笹野みちるの声で、彼の在宅が確認できた。

大学卒業を控えた頃、彼の部屋に下宿を引き払う手伝いに行った。
大きな荷物を実家へ送った後、がらんとした部屋で、彼が1枚のCDをくれた。
見ると、彼がいつもかけていた東京少年の『帰り道』だった。
「結構いい曲入ってるから」
「そんなこと、言われなくても知ってるよ。いつもお前がかけてから、アカペラで歌えるくらい覚えてるし」

数年後、笹野みちるが同性愛者であることをカミングアウトしたニュースが流れた時、久しく会っていないYの顔が脳裏に蘇った。
同時に、「君のマンションへ集合」（『帰り道』の2曲目に収録）が頭の中で流れ始めた。
「君のウサギ小屋へ集合〜♪」と歌いながら、ボロアパートの階段を駆け上がっていたあの日の情景とともに。
