良いメロディが信条のギャングウェイの中でも、最もエバーグリーンな香り漂う1993年の5枚目で、ＢＭＧを通して、初めて世界レベルで配給された作品でもあります。

ギター･ポップ･ジャンボリーシリーズにも採り上げられたM7「マウンテン・ソング」を筆頭に、とにかくポップでまろやかなメロディと、奇をてらうことない絶妙のアレンジが本当に、心地よいアルバムです。初期のギャングウェイは、簡素なアコースティックを主体としたバンドでしたが、3枚目エレクトロニックを採用し、このアルバムにおいては、打ち込みの使い方も実に自然で、シンプルなのに味があるというアレンジをしています。個人的には、M2「ユー・アンド・ユアーズ」がベストで、ギャングウェイの持ち味である良いメロディはもちろん、ドラマチックで、少しセンチメンタルという彼らに僕が求める全てが詰まった名曲だと思います。

このアルバムは本当に何度聴いてもあきない不思議な魅力を持つ。かげりと哀愁を感じさせる声と巧みなアレンジが見事にはまり彼等のサウンドは成立している。メロディーはもう必殺で、こんだけいいメロディーをよく思い付くな~~と聴くたびに感心する。極上のメロディーがかれらのトレードマーク。プレファブスプラウトやフラリッポリッピやダニーウイルソンやリバティーホーシズやスクィーズのファンにぜひともおすすめ。ヨーロッパ的なクールで熱情押さえぎみのポップがぐさりとつぼに入ります。まずはおためしあれ。独特のリリシズムが全体を貫いているのに気付くはずです。冬の夕暮れのドライブにぜひともおすすめ。背中をかすめる一抹のわびしさそれギャングウエイ。
