5.0 out of 5 stars カウビサントラ中、１番好きな１枚, 2004/7/5
「カウボーイビバップ」劇場版のサントラとして世に出されたこのアルバム。
しかし、その中身は単なるサウンドトラックではありません！（カウビのサントラ全作品で言われている事ですが。）枠から飛び出すと言うか溢れ出すと言うか…とにかく、【越えている】。
アニメの方を知らない人・興味が無い人にも、ただ純粋に「聞いて欲しい」と思える１枚です。

私自身、アニメを知ってるくせに「アニメのサントラ」に対して持っていた先入観が、一瞬にして打ち砕かれました（笑
レビューを読んで迷っているくらいの方であれば買って損はないと思います。

個人的にはギターサウンドが格好イイ山根麻衣の「Pushing the sky」と、壮大で切ないsteve conteの「no reply」がかなりお気に入り！
この２曲だけでも聴く価値ありです！

あと山根麻衣さん版「RAIN」も必聴モノ。steve conte版とはまた違った、響き渡る様な雰囲気で素晴らしいです。

　劇中で使われなかったけれど、菅野氏はこの作品のトータルイメージ的な曲として最初期に作ったらしい。感傷的で雄大という相反する要素が両立した、荘厳なロックバラードだ！　もちろん歌詞は必見。最後の１行には泣かされますね。"The Real Folk Blues"もそうですが、この曲もバイオリンが効いてます。個人的には、心中でどれほど荒れ狂っていても決して外に漏らされない『無言の絶叫』がバイオリンによって表現されているという印象を受けます。このアルバムを気に入らなかった人もいるみたいですが、私はカウボーイビバップのCDのなかではいちばんのお気に入りです。

テレビシリーズからのごった煮っぷりを見事に引継いだ１枚。

収録曲１７曲（+シークレット）
１７曲のテーマ別内訳は、
・ひたすらカッコイイ曲　3曲
・かわいくておバカな曲　2曲
・意味の無さっぷりが逆にカッコイイ曲　3曲
・トリップしちゃった曲　2曲
・シリアスなボーカル曲　3曲
・モロッカン・テイストな曲　3曲
・エドのボーカル曲　1曲

といった感じ。

17曲中ボーカル曲が7曲（一部ボーカルというより吠えてる曲もあり）とや多めで、歌詞もシリアス。映画に詰め込みきれなかった要素を補おうとしているのが見て取れます。特に映画版ラストは「Gatta knock a littie harder」の歌詞の日本語訳を知ってから見るとヴィンセントへの感情移入度が急上昇。泣けます！

また、ビバップの売りはなんと言っても舞台設定の現実感。ウォークマンで街中に持ち出せばいい感じに雑音が入って、自分が2074年にいるかのような錯覚に陥れます。

とにかく、劇場版はこのサントラとセットで視聴して初めて完結すると言っても過言では無いです。
まだ聞いてない人は迷わず買いましょう。初版限定で「カウガール・エド　オリジナルサントラ」なるオマケCDが付いていたんですが・・・売り切れちゃったみたいですね。

マキシシングルとの重複があるから星一つ減点。
