James LaBrieが声域・表現力・顔(?)と三拍子揃ったHR/HM界屈指のヴォーカリストであることは言うまでもないですが、このアルバム聴くとさらに「嗚呼、この人がインスト重視のバンドで出番が少なくてしかもポー○ノイ氏に虐めみたいな扱い受けてるなんて酷過ぎるよ!!」って思っちゃいますね。いやいやそりゃDTが偉大だから何か陰に隠れちゃうのも分かりますが、世間的な評価がもっと高くてもいいんじゃないでしょうか。ライヴでの調子が云々とかって、みんな贅沢過ぎるんですよ~。'02年日本公演での唄いっぷりなんかは本当に素晴らしかったですよね。"Mullmuzzler 3"早く聴きたいので頑張ってください。ところで、やっぱりポート○イ＆ペト○ッチ氏は未だにこのアルバム聴いてないんでしょうかねぇ。。

ドリームシアターが好きで、Ｊ．ラブリエのソロプロジェクトである今作は言い方は悪いが「惰性」で買った面があった。しかし、聴いてみて「惰性」で買った自分が恥ずかしくなった。もともとドリームシアターでその歌唱力は折り紙付きだが今作はどうだろう。ドリームシアターのプログレ思考の楽曲で如何無く発揮されてた歌声は、このマルマズラーの楽曲でさらに磨きがかかっている。感情溢れる歌いまわしと完璧な歌唱力により曲はひきたち、また曲も歌声をひきたてている。曲もバラエティに富み、Ｊ．ラブリエを抜きにしてもアルバムとして完成度は高い。

ソロ作品ではDREAM THEATERとは違った一面を魅せてくれます。曲もGENTLE GIANTを現代風にした様なプログレ作や、M-4「falling」の様な優しいキャッチーなバラード(この曲は必聴)もありで、素晴らしくバリエーションに富んだ作品です。
