　あまりにも有名なマドンナの２ＮＤ。プロデューサーに当時売れっ子だったナイル・ロジャースを起用、前作の軽快なディスコサウンドに比べ、ブラックコンテンポラリー寄りのサウンドとなった。このアルバム、及び「ライク・ア・ヴァージン」「マテリアル・ガール」などのヒットで彼女は一気にワールドワイドな存在になった。曲もいいのだが、このアルバムを発売したころ、彼女は自分の持つセックス・アピールをイメージ戦略とし、当時黎明期だったＭＴＶなどのメディアを通じて大々的に宣伝してゆく。当時私は、なんてえげつないＨな女なんだとちょっと敬遠気味だったが、今考えるとその強烈なアピールこそが皆に彼女のイメージを確立させ、今日まで彼女がミュージック・シーンでトップクラスの存在している理由だと思う。つまり、このアルバムよりも、協働したメディア戦略のほうが重要に思えるのだ。マス・メディアをフルに利用する随一の歌手、私がこれ以降のマドンナに思うイメージである。

ライク、アバージンでの彼女の歌声は、身近に感じ、それっでもってまねのできない、腕のいい料理人が作った田舎料理のようだ。聴くほど、食べるほど発見がある。

マドンナの声の魅力が満載の1枚ですね
ライクアバージンやマテリアルは有名ですが私はエンジェルやステイの方がもっといいと思います
少し悲しげなメロディに彼をエンジェルと歌いステイしてという歌詞もいいです
ライブでは聴けない曲なのでこのＣＤで知った曲ですがこの曲も歌ってほしいです
ステイは今までの歌声の中で1番旨いですよ
是非聞いてほしいです
