邦題はデモンズ3となっているが、原題はTHE CHURCH、つまり教会だ。デモンズ1と2の様な展開で今度は教会が舞台かなぁ、と思って観たら、つまらなかった。が、しかし、デモンズとは別物として観てみると面白い!何度も何度も観ると味が出る!本家のデモンズシリーズより好きになったかも。本家もグロくて大好きだけど、アキロンの大王とかって悪魔とは程遠い。どっちかっていうと本家はゾンビグロっぽいのに対し、こっちは本当に悪魔っぽい。
悪魔崇拝の村人たちが折り重なり、地中から復活しようと出てくるシーンは圧巻。アーシアは確かに美少女だったよ。今はなぜ、あんなにケバいの?デモンズ4も5も原題と邦題がまったく、かけ離れている。4と5もデモンズの続編として見なければ、面白いのでオススメ。イタリア野郎のセンスは最高だね。サンゲリアシリーズやデモンズシリーズ、ナイトメアシティ、ゾンビ3、4などなど、素晴らしい作品が沢山。デモンズ3は見つけるのが困難。ぜひ再発売して欲しい。2000円ぐらいで。スパイクに掛け合ってみるかなぁ。

オリジナルタイトルもデモンズでは無いらしいですがこの映画は結構好きです。
前二作は映画館やマンションを舞台にしたパニック物といった趣が強く、
悪魔というよりゾンビパニック物に近いノリでした。
しかし今回はストーリーの骨子に中世の魔女狩りや教会文化やキリスト教的なバックボーンがあり、
美術設定や色彩、音楽、舞台となる大聖堂と全体的に中正ヨーロッパのゴシック感が強いです。
出て来る悪魔もゾンビ的でなく、目がたくさんあるヤギの頭をした中性的な人型のやつで、
それもあからさまに襲って来るのではなくじわじわ人間を支配して行く様が怖いです。
最後に正義感ある黒人親父が教会内に閉じ込めた悪魔化した人々を道連れに教会を崩壊させるシーンだとか、
錬金術的な仕掛けとかゴシック＆幻想的な雰囲気でいい感じです。
前二作と関係ない、中世魔女狩りをモチーフにしたゴシックホラー映画と考えるとなかなか佳作だと思う。

ダリオ・アルジェント監督の弟子みたいな人らしい。師匠の様に派手な色彩が画面に出ることはなくて、地味なトーンだけど美術は凝ってる。イタリア映画らしいというか理解不能な場面もあるけどクライマックスに突如、教会の床を突き破ってでてくる人間のオブジェ（よく見ると悪魔の顔？）や凝った構図など見所もあります。キース・エマーソンの音楽もよかった。最近、輸入盤でサントラが出てました。

んっげ~退屈な映画。内容はデモンズ１＆２とは全く関係がないので要注意。レンタルで観ても＼300返せ~って感じです。＼34500て何？売る気ないって事？？
