ライナーによると「ホテルのバーで思いついた企画で、ライブ用の曲を作りそれを様々な国でライブレコーディングしアルバムに仕上げる」と言うアイデアがベースになり、それを具体化したライブアルバムです・・・曲はウルトラゾーンツアーのライブから収録！！全体的な印象としてはフランクザッパのギターアルバムを彷彿させる内容で、これでもかと言うくらい弾きまくりです。このＶＡＩＢＡＮＤは譜面に強いメンバーなので、数回のリハーサルで曲をこなしていたようです・・・普通のロックバンドとはやっぱり違います、まさにＺＡＰＰＡ的！！おもしろかったのはＣＤ１の５曲目で、演奏中にスティーブの弦が切れてしまったハプニングがそのまま収録されている事・・・その見事な対応にプロを感じてしまいました。このＶＡＩＢＡＮＤにはマイクキニリーとデイヴワイナーの２人の凄腕ギタリストが参加しており、スティーブが３人同時に演奏しているのでは・・・と言う位ギターの構成が緻密です。スティーブはこのデイヴを凄く誉めてます！！ＺＡＰＰＡ学校の卒業生は本当凄いアーティストばかりです・・・実感！！

　2001年、Steve Vaiのアルバムです。

　このアルバムは、
「様々な国の文化や伝統的音楽のエレメントを反映した新曲を、様々な国のステージで収録したライヴ盤」です。

　この手のアルバムは、例えば「日本的」と言いつつも、
「イントロに日本的メロが入っているだけ」とか、「楽器に尺八が入っているだけ」とか、
「どこがやねん！」と、ツッコミたくなるものが、ほとんどですが。。。。

　。。。やはり、巨匠・Vai先生！
　その国の伝統的な音階・リズム etc を用いて、作曲されています。
　つまり、譜面レベルで、「日本的」「フランス的」「スペイン的」「○○的」と言えます。
（ちなみに、日本の"Burning Rain"は、「都節・1 b2 4 5 b6」の五音音階で作曲されています）

　ちなみに、幸運にも収録された国は、
Disc 1:　ポーランド、日本、ドイツ、スロベニア、オランダ、UK、アイルランド、スペイン　
Disc 2:　ギリシャ、ブルガリア、オーストラリア、ルーマニア、フランス、イタリア、ポルトガル　となっています。

　また、演奏は、「Ultra Zone tour」のバンドで、メンバーは
Steve Vai (G), Dave Weiner (G), Mike Keneally (G, Key), Philip Bynoe (B), Mike Mangini (Dr)　です。

　録音は、Live録音ですが、1曲1曲・別の場所での録音です。
　1曲1曲のフェイドアウトは無く、まるで1本のLiveのように仕上がっています。

　「世界各国の音楽的伝統」と「巨匠・Vaiの斬新性」が、見事にブレンドされた大傑作です。
　「Steve Vaiファン」はもちろんのこと、「この企画に興味を持った人」にも、オススメします！

　ツアーで訪れた世界各国をイメージさせる楽曲を、その国でライヴ演奏、レコーディングして2枚組のライヴ作品として編集したもの。当然、収録された16曲全て、未発表の新曲だ。

　日本からのイメージを曲にしたものはCD-1-2「BURNING RAIN」。確かに日本的な音階でプレイされている。個人的にはCD-2のほうが充実していると思うが、インストゥルメンタルばかりでありながら、多彩で優れた楽曲が並んでおり、まさに天才のなせる技。
