あの寛平ちゃんが新旧パンクスと共演した『曲頂戴』につづき、再び本格的なロックに挑戦! 今回は忌野清志郎のラフィータフィーやザ・ハイロウズの真島昌利、山川のりおたちとのコラボレーションだ。寛平師匠の中で何かが弾けたのかどうか、そのへんが今ひとつよくわからないのだが、中途半端な共演ではないことはラフィータフィーの演奏から瞬時にわかる。特にザ・ハイロウズが正式にレパートリーにするらしい「天国野郎」や「コスモス」の歌いっぷりは、かなり堂に入っている。寛平ちゃんって、真面目な人なんやなぁ……。 (杉山達) --- 2001年08月号

寛平さんというと「アメマ~」「かい~の」「血ぃ吸うたろか」など、数々のギャグのイメージが強いのですが、このアルバムでは寛平さんは芸人ではなく、れっきとしたロッカーなのです。曲を担当しているのは忌野清志郎さんとザ・ハイロウズの真島昌利さんなどで、はじけたノリが楽しめます。『やどもり』という歌では、寛平さんが作詞をされています。寛平さんらしいといえば寛平さんらしい感じが出ていて、ちょっと笑ってしまいました。間奏にアドリブが入っていたり、ちらっと遊び心もほのみえるアルバムです。
