4.0 out of 5 stars 血生臭い戦場に降り立った乙女。歴史に残るヒロインとなった彼女は何者だったのか。, 2002/12/9
確かに映像は迫力満点で物凄い！一挙に15世紀フランスにタイムスリップしたような感があったが、
この見終わった後のどうしょうもない救いようの無さは…。
教会と戦乱と魔女狩りの暗黒の中世ヨーロッパっていうのはあんな感じだったんだろうけど、
ジャンヌ・ダルクの話を知っている人ならお分かりの通り、あの話は決して後味の良いものではない。

しかし、それをわずかに救っていたのは、自分は神を信じ、神のお告げにしたがって正しいことをやり
遂げたというジャンヌの揺るぎ無い愚直なまでの信仰心、最後の息を引き取る瞬間まで消えることの
なかったその強い気持ちだったのではないかと、私は思っている。

でもこの作品では、「ジャンヌの良心」なるダスティン・ホフマン演じる役によって、その部分が崩されて
しまっている。そしてあの結末。これではどうにも救い所がないではないか…。
ああやって気持ちが揺れ動く方がどちらかといえば話としてはリアリティがあるともいえるし、それは

それで映画としては成功したのかもしれないが、私としては、見た後にひたすら陰鬱な気持ちになって
しまったところが駄目だった。

5.0 out of 5 stars ジャンヌダルクを新たな視点から見た作品です。, 2001/6/16
ジャンヌダルク１００年戦争の後期のヒロインでわずか１０代後半でフランスの指揮官となり１００年戦争を終結に導いていく女性で最後にはイングランド軍に捕らえられ処刑されてしまうが今では聖人として呼ばれている女性で、これはジャンヌダルクのそういう聖人という面からではなく、人間としてのジャンヌダルクを描いた作品です。きっとジャンヌダルクについて新たな視点で考えることができとてもよい作品だと思います。リュックベッソン監督にしかできない作品であると思います。また主演のミラ・ジョボビッチの演技も素晴らしいものであると思う。
