マイ・ウェイを聞いて感じたことは、才能と安定感が同居しているということ。つまり、息の長い活躍と更なる成長が期待できると感じていた。久々のアルバムはアイドル視されていたその「オーラ」もあいまって、相当実力をつけた印象を受ける。マイケル・ジャクソンの３０周年記念で、ＭＪへのリスペクトをアーティストとしてそしてそれらを地肉化したパフォーマンスでみせつけたという。

　今回のアルバムはマイ・ウェイとは多少違う印象を受ける。というのは、アッパーな曲以上に、バラードが充実しているし、ミドル・テンポのナンバーを大事にしている。う~ん、正直マイケル・ジャクソンの「レイディ・イン・マイ・ライフ」のような雰囲気の曲も収録されているし、驚きを隠せない。十分Ｒ＆Ｂファンをうならせる。ちょっと背伸びな感覚がすんなり聞けるこの「安定感」はすばらしい。

　それだけではない。チキチキサウンドの申し子として時代を作ったひとりでもある彼のバラードへの意気込み、つまり音楽性の広さをみせつけることにも素直に成功している。また、ルーツとしてのＲ＆Ｂに根ざしながら、よりミクスチュアなイメージをも与える。捨て曲なし。しかし、この頃のＣＤは録音時間が長いので後半は時間を置いてから聞いたほうがいい。

ついにＵＳＨＥＲの３rdアルバムが発売されました。
　これまでのＵＳＨＥＲの代表作では９８年の「ナイス＆スロー」でしたが、その記録を塗り替える勢いで、ビルボードでも、見事１位を取りました。　

今年のＡＭＡ(アメリカンミュージックアワー)では、新曲「Ｕ　ＧＯ　ＩＴ　ＢＡＤ」を披露した事でも話題を呼びました。顔がＡｓｉａｎ系で目がとても優しく、なんとなく親近感をも持たされる人です。
　踊って歌えるとてもかっこいいこのＵＳＨＥＲの声をあなたも堪能して下さい。

Ｕｓｈｅｒが音楽に目覚めた年８７年を意味するタイトルをつけた、この
アルバムは、全米でも「Ｕ」で始まるタイトルのヒット・シングルを連発、
現在４００万枚の認定を受けている成功作だ。
ＪＤやシェイクスピアの手がける流行のＲ＆Ｂから、ものすごく美しい
バラードまで。アッシャーは安定した歌唱で、どんなタイプの曲でも見事に
歌いこなしている。

ブリトニーやジャスティン・ティンバーレイク、Ｊａｙ-Ｚなど超多数の
アーティストを手がけて大流行りのチーム、ネプチューンズも参加し、
そのユニークなサウンドを聴かせてくれる。
