川崎の工業地帯にある「昭和駅」から始まるこの映画、
WinterLiveのコンセプトの延長でそのような場所を選
んだのかどうかは不明ですが、独特の緊張感を持って
始まります。注目は、衝撃のラスト。
YMOの演奏そのものより、YMOという現象として観るこ
とで、時代の連続性やら、突然変異性やら、勝手に色々
考えることができる佳作です。

YMO世代の皆さんには懐かしく、ポストYMO世代には新鮮に。

この映画がどういう状況で上映されていたかはわかりませんが、是非ライブも映画もリアルタイムで見て見たかったです。
散開ライブにふさわしい切なさと、次に向おうとする三人の決意が映像と音で伝わってきます。

純粋なライブ映像ではないのでその点だけはよくお考えの上ご購入ください。

それにしてもYMOで若い女の子がキャーキャー言ってるのが、いつ見ても不思議です(^^;)

LDが出たとき買ったのですが、ヘリウムネオンレーザーを使ったレーザーディスクプレーヤーがあまりに大きく、現在ディスクのみ所有しています。途中で出てくる根岸競馬場(実際に行って撮影もしたりしました)が、当時中学生にとってはあまりに衝撃的な映像で、秋葉原の石丸電気の展示されていたテレビで上映されていたとき、くぎづけで立ち尽くしていたことを思い出します。現在主流となっているDVDという形になって発売されたことはとても喜ばしいことだと思います。
