   『ザ・フライ』と続編『ザ・フライ2／二世誕生』のセット。前作『蝿男の恐怖』を、異才デヴィッド・クローネンバーグ監督がリメイクした。
   物質転送の研究者セスは、自らの体を使って実験をした際に、1匹の蝿の遺伝子を体内にとり込んでしまう。日ごと蝿へと変化していく男の様子を、クローネンバーグが容赦なくグロテスクに描き、その醜悪さゆえに人間社会からはじき出される男の恐怖、苦悩、悲しみを浮き彫りにしていく。蝿と化したセスが、恋人のベロニカに醜い自分を殺してくれと哀願するシーンはあまりにも悲しい。
   続編は、蝿の遺伝子を受け継いだ2人の子どもが主役である。遺伝子とともに苦悩と悲しみの人生を引き継ぎ、そしてそれは研究所の人間たちへの憎しみへと変わっていく。サイエンス・フィクション、ホラー、そしてラブストーリーの要素が見事に融合した秀作である。（古屋葉月）

~特典映像なんかもありますがたいしたことないです。でも、両作とも大好きな映画です。一枚ずつ買うよりは・・・。特にお気に入りは続編です。観ていて、これ以上にないくらい泣いてしまいました。クローネンバーグの作品に比べると小粒ですが、モンスター映画の輝きなら絶対続編の方に軍配があがります。モンスター犬と主人公の交流シーンの悲しさ、異様なラ~~ストシーンは必見です。~
