2001年10月にはPOTSHOT、チンキーズとのライヴ・ツアーのため、タイミングよく来日も果たすスーサイド・マシーンズ。どうしてもスカコアのイメージが強い彼らではあるが、最近ではスカコアの親しみやすさやポップさを踏まえつつも、もっと自由度の高い領域へと踏み込んでいった印象がある。細かいジャンル分けの話をすれば、このアルバムも、スカコアというよりかはポップ・パンクと呼べるような仕上がり。随所で巧さや余裕をさりげなく醸し出しているあたりは、さすが10年選手。 (兒玉常利) --- 2001年10月号

メロディック色が強いですね！ちょっと今までと違ったノリの曲もあったり
1.2枚目が好きな人にはおすすめしません。suicide machinesが好きだ！って人はぜひ

前作での試行錯誤がこの４枚目のアルバムにして結実した感じを受ける。曲はどれもバラエティに富んでるし、どの曲も完成度が高い。
ただ、少しなんか物足りないんだよなぁ…。
というわけで、星４つ。

よくも悪くも非常にアメリカのキッズ向けの音。
ハードだったり速かったりオーバーな表現だったり。結果、あんまり印象に残らない。
ファーストフードのハンバーガーみたいな音楽だ。
前作が非常に良質なポップ・アルバムだったがゆえに残念。

売り飛ばそうかと何度も思う。

でも聴き返してみると、レゲエ風アレンジで清涼な「スタンド・アップ」の余りの名曲ぶりに感涙して、いまだに売り飛ばせないでいるのである。
