初期の曲と新曲が収録されているが、全く違和感無く（フル・レングスでないせいもあるが）、一気に聴いてしまう。相変わらずドラマチックで展開が素晴らしい！新機軸を打ち出したわけではないが、演奏がしっかりしてきた。彼らの場合、曲相互の関連はないものの、一貫したコンセプトアルバムに聴こえるから、不思議だ。それだけ、スタイリッシュだということなのだろう。メタルを超えた神々しい存在なので、犬神サーカス団やプログレファン、ホラー映画の愛好家の方にもおすすめします。

英国のメロディックブラックメタルバンド、クレイドルオブフィルスのスペシャルアルバム。
新曲6曲に過去のリメイク曲3曲、カヴァー曲1曲という構成。
相変わらずの高品質な激烈かつドラマティックなブラックメタルサウンド。
彼らの場合は、エンペラー、サテリコンなどとは異なり、その暴虐さにはキャッチ―なエンターテイメント性がある。
それが「ブラックメタル」という特異なジャンルにおいても、彼らが決してアンダーグラウンドには走らず、
万人に向けた 「ホラー映画的な娯楽性」をまとった音にして、構築している所以だろう。
そういう意味で、彼らの「恐怖というものを演出」する手腕は見事という他はない。
もはやここまでくるとこれは、デス/ブラック嫌いの人間でも聴けるA級の音楽とさえいえる。
