   2001年1月~3月、TBS系で放映されたSMAPの中居正広主演の医療ドラマで、“役者・中居正広”を楽しむうえで外せない作品。原作は、渡辺淳一による小説『無影燈』。1973年に田宮二郎主演でドラマ化された作品のリメイクで、当時も人気を博した孤高の医師・直江庸介役に、中居が斬新な演技で息を吹き込んだ。陽気で明るいイメージのある中居が、シリアスで謎めいた直江を完璧に演じ、物語をよりドラマティックなものに昇華させている。最初は反感をもちながら、しだいに直江に惹かれていく看護婦・志村倫子役は竹内結子が務め、せつない恋路を往く女性の強さと健気さをたしかな存在感で見せている。脇を固めるいかりや長介ら、ベテランの演技も見逃せない。（みきーる）

直江先生と倫子の純愛。死期が近づいている直江の苦しみと医者として人生を終わりたいという生き方。すべてが最高です。

直江先生と志村が担当していた患者がとうとう他界。
私はオンエア当時、ただ涙していたようだったのですが、
父を昨年亡くし改めてこの第七話を観たら、久しぶりに号泣(T_T)
してしまいました。
本当の医療と死、その家族の気持ち、リアルに描かれています。

第八話では、直江と志村の切ない純愛とウラハラに、

じょじょに進行していく直江の病状に周りが気がつきだす。

観ていて私も切なく、苦しくたまらない。

直江先生を中居君が、すばらしく演じています（*^_^*）
