１作目の『ヘルレイザー』で、もっと出してくれたら完璧なのにと感じていたストイック感のイマイチさが、一転美々しいほど世界を追求したものに。　
悪魔というより裁きの天使のようで、この冷酷さは素敵です。　
映像も言うこと無し。
　
普段の光景の中にふと魔道士たちが映り込む様は夢のイメージに似て、自分がその夢を視ているような気分になります。　
　
主人公があんな目に遭わされるほどの何かをしたのか　というのは疑問ですが、　
キリスト教圏では当たり前のことなんでしょうか。
（あと、大事な基本設定が無視されているような気がするんですが･･･。「究極の快楽」は･･･？）　
　
魔道士が主人公じゃなかったり、『ヘルレイザー』でこの話を描く必然性がないということで、案外『ヘルレイザー』のシリーズ・ファンにはウケが悪かったりするようなのですが。
『セブン』とか好きな人には良いんじゃないかなあ、と、思ったりします。
筋としては、ありきたりなサイコホラーですが、『ヘルレイザー』という世界・魔道士の存在がこの作品世界を補完して余りあるものにしています。

大好きなヘルレイザーシリーズの5作品目になるこのゲートオブインフェルノ!!率直な感想シリーズ中で1番好きな作品になりました。テンポやストーリー展開、キャラクターデザイン全てが良い!!
お馴染みの拷問シーンにピンヘッド様のお説教タイムまで・・
まぁ主人公が何故ここまでやられなくてはいけないかが少し疑問ですが・・まぁ良しとしましょう!!
ヘルレイザー好きならきっと理解出来る世界です!!
ヘルレイザー見たことない人が初めて見ても全然面白いですよ!!サスペンスとホラー上手く交わりあっていてラストも納得です。
