　香港が高度成長を遂げた80年代、香港最大手テレビ局ＴＶＢで”五虎将”と称されたアイドルスター５人がいた。アンディ・ラウ、トニー・レオン、ミウ・キウワイ、ケン（ケネスとも）・トン、フェリックス・ウォンである。その後映画界とテレビ界に道の分かれた彼らが、久々に集結してフェリックス・ウォンの音頭取りで撮影したのが、友情と裏切りの交錯する重いテーマのこの映画だった…。マフィアの取り引き資金を、それぞれの家庭の事情から隠匿し山分けにした刑事チームの面々。だがそのつけは大きかった。マフィアの変質者的幹部と汚職取締りの廉政公署に追い詰められていく、彼らの選んだ道とは…！　トニーとアンディのコンビに注目。監督をエリック・ツァン、美術を「不夜城」のリー・チーガイ監督が手掛けている。

刑事役の５人チーム、特にアンディとトニーは刑事とは思えないおちゃらけぶり。２人のダンスシーンは笑えます。ところが中盤トニー扮するタウピイが殉職。そこからどんどん物語は悲劇に・・・。が、しかしこの悲しいはずの殉職シーン。トニーが同時期撮影の「チャイニーズ・ゴースト・ストーリー３」主演（お坊さん役）のため頭を剃っており、この作品中は帽子とかつらで違和感なく演じていたのに、頭を撃たれたトニーをアンディが抱える時に最初の悲劇？が・・・。ズラがずれて見えてしまったではありませんか！撮りなおせよ！！星１つ減。でもって、ハッピーエンド好きな私にとって、ラストで更に星１つ減。

ｱﾝﾃﾞｨﾗｳとﾄﾆｰﾚｵﾝ共演と言いたいところだがﾄﾆｰﾚｵﾝは助演で出ております｡物語の途中退屈な場面もありますが映画のﾗｽﾄはかなり衝撃的です｡ｱﾝﾃﾞｨが歌う主題歌はかっこよく硬派な映画でお薦め｡
