ロックはこれから始まったと云われております。その時に居合わせていないので定かではありませんが「アメリカン・グラフィティ」もこれで始まってますし、やはり大方の人がそう思っているのでしょう（定説として確立している）。でもこれは偉大なる勲章だと思います。ロック史を紐解いたらまずこれから始まるのですからこんな素晴らしい名誉はないと思います。この曲が主題歌の「暴力教室」という映画を見たことがないのですが見てみたいですね（見ない方がいいかな？）。雰囲気的はカントリー＆ウェスタンから派生したようなグループですが、ここからこんなスゴイマーケットを形成していくことになるとは夢にも思わなかったことでしょう。？「ロック・アラウンド・ザ・クロック」はヒットチャート（当時はあったのかな？）のどの程度まで上った曲だったのでしょうか？（調べたら全米８週間１位でした。大ヒットだったんですね）チャートはともかく、出だしも印象に残るロック史の口火を切るにふさわしい名曲です。一説によれば、今まで世界中で６０００万枚売れているという話もあります。（ちょっと言い過ぎのような・・・）
