寡作だが既存のどのバンドも持ち得ない独自の世界観と音楽性を持ち孤高の存在感を放つバンドBRAHMAN(ブラフマン）。
1998年にリリースされ今もなおロングセールスを続ける１stフルアルバムA MAN OF THE WORLDからおよそ
2年半、満を侍して放たれた２ndフルアルバムA FORLORN HOPE。

研ぎ澄まされ前作を凌ぐ圧倒的な威力で迫る激しくも何処か哀愁を感じる楽曲達、自らの身を削ぐかの様にして放たれるそのメッセージは聴く者の心を強く捕らえる。
途中インストゥルメンタルを挟みつつも最後まで気を抜く事が出来ない33分。捨て曲なんてものは１曲も無い。まさに彼等の2年間が集約されていると言える12曲。

これからもマスターピース足り得る１枚だと思う。
まあ、様は猫も杓子も取り敢えず必聴と言う訳だ。

最後に、彼等はライブバンドだ。
CDを聴いて何か感じるものがあったなら是非ライブ会場へと足を運んで欲しいと思う。

今や彼らも日本を代表するロックバンドになりましたね。
前作が好きな人と本作が好きな人とで意見がハッキリと分かれるみたいですが、僕はこっちの方が圧倒的に好きです。
勿論前作のやや軽快な趣も個人的には大変魅力的なのですが、今作はインストゥルメンタルや曲の構成を若干奥深くさせ、正に「深化」という言葉が似合う内容を誇っていると思います。

具体的に言うならば「静」と「動」のコントラストがよりハッキリとなされているような気がします。
そしてその「深化」した音こそに、彼等の音楽に対するストイックな精神を垣間見るような気がするのです。
メロディアスで激しい、世界を見渡しても彼等独特のその音楽性は、正に「激情」という形容に他なりません。

名前だけで判断している洋!楽リスナーに是非とも聴いていただきたいです。

インドっぽいと言うより俺的にはスペイン（？）ぽい感じがします。
勢いよりもムードに酔わせる感じに聞こえます。ＤＥＥＰもそれ風に半音下げアレンジされてます。
個人的にハードコアチックな以前のアルバムの方が好きですが、こういう曲も違った意味でライブで盛り上がるでしょう。
