ウィスパーヴォイスというと過剰にロリータ性を強調したり、性的な連想を誘発するものが多いのですが、
彼女の声はそんなわざとらしさを感じさせないので、描いている世界に多少の変化球的な癖はあるものの
実は性別･世代を問わずリスナーに受け入れられやすいものだと思います。

それは一音一音に気を配り、楽曲の雰囲気を壊さないことを前提にした発声からきているものなのでは。
作曲の技巧もあくまで情感とリンクした適材適所な使い方をされているところも嫌味がありません。

音楽的な多彩さや深みではメジャー2作目に軍配が上がると思いますが、
比類なきポップセンスを見せつけたシングル曲のAn Apple A Day、自力でソフトロックを構築した3曲目など
全体をアコースティックなポップアルバムにまとめながらも、引き出しの多さを感じさせる作編曲のセンスは聴き所です。

唯一松本隆が詞を提供した曲は完成度は高いのですが、どこかよそゆきの感じもする。
やはり彼女のユニークな視点が多々出ている自作詞の曲の方が何度も聴きたくなります。

最後のAn Apple A Day英語バージョン はボーナストラック的にとらえるといいと思います。

その、囁くような、甘い声は、聴くもの全てを魅了する。

作詞作曲を自らでこなし、ピアノやギターなどの演奏もしてしまう。
他のミュージシャンへの楽曲提供や、ドラマのサントラまでやってしまう。
とても多彩なアーティストです。

しかしその作風は、あくまで穏やかで、春風のような暖かさを感じます。

本作1曲目"K-garden"のイントロに流れるピアノの旋律を聴けば、
biceさんの才能がまざまざと分かることでしょう。

決して暴力的ではなく、荒々しさもない、大人しい曲が多いですが、
気付けば、その魅力の虜になっている自分に気付くはずです。
メジャーデビューアルバムである本作を聴いて、虜にされてみてはどうですか？
