ブラックモアズナイト名義の３作目の作品である。

ブラックモアズナイトの基本である、中世ヨーロッパ調の楽曲ぞろいであることは、前２作同様であるが、当作品から現れた変化といえば、より楽曲に後期ＲＡＩＮＢＯＷ的な要素が含まれていることである。それが顕著に表れているのは、個人的に大のお気に入りである37である。ＲＡＩＮＢＯＷの楽曲といってもおかしくないようなすぐれた楽曲であると思う。リッチーのメロディーメーカーとしての才能が如何なく発揮されている。個人的には、上記の曲のほかに、124814がお気に入りである。インスト曲である613も聴き入ってしまう。特に13なんかは、リッチーにしては珍しいメジャー展開の曲である。

とにかく、リッチーのファンであれば間違いなく気に入る作品であるし、あまり聴いた事がないリスナーや、ロックはちょっと遠慮している人も安心して耳を傾けて欲しい。またリッチーファンでも、ロックしてないということで購入を戸惑っている人がいれば、まず聴く事をオススメする。なぜなら、彼の本質である美しいメロディーラインは未だに健在であることを確認することができるからである。

5.0 out of 5 stars 中世トラッドとして素直に大いに評価したい, 2004/1/2
ハード・ロック・ギタリストの代名詞・リッチー・ブラックモアはなぜガールフレンドと一緒に中世フォークなどやっているのか…これは国内外を問わず議論されていることである。しかしRitche Blackmoreはこの音楽の構想を1975年から語っており、実際に行動に移しているだけである。本作はBlackmore's Nightの３作目。作を重ねるに従ってハードなサウンドが増えてきているが、トラッドやバロックの麗しい世界観も継続している。ヴォーカルのCandice Nightは初期のクリスタルトーンを控え気味にして、幾分パワーを優先して歌っている。Jethro Tull、Procol Harum、Moody Blues、Trafficなどのファンは聴いておいて損は無いと思う。評価されにくい種類の音楽であるが、再評価されるときが必ず来ると思う。
