"Shine a Little Love" and "Confusion" are also classic ELO tracks in which synths, guitars, and orchestration merge into a finely crafted whole. Unfortunately, the Beatles pastiche of "The Diary of Horace Wimp" and the overly sentimental "Last Train to London" show that, for this world-conquering band, time was about to run out. 最近、某番組のオープニングで「トワイライト」が流れ、
ＥＬＯイコール「トワイライト」という印象が強いですが、
彼らの最高傑作は、まぎれもなくこの「ディスカバリー」に間違いありません！！
高校生の時、このアルバムを初めて聴き、最初から最後まで捨て曲なしの配列に、
何とサービス精神豊かなのかと感動したのを覚えています。
Shine A Little Loveのイントロにワクワクし、ハンドクラッピングをし、
Confusionの叫ぶところを合唱し、
Need Her LoveやMidnight Blue、Wishingの美しさに聞き入り、
Last Train To London、On The Run、Don't Bring Me Downで乗り乗りでした！！
元祖キラキラポップ満載の名盤です。
今回のリマスター盤には３曲のボーナス収録です。
特に、Little Town Flirtは、ビートルズのBaby It's Youを彷彿とさせるとてもいい曲です。
このＣＤも洋楽ファン必携の作品と言えるでしょう！！

カセットプレーヤーがないので、聴けない状態のカセットが200個ほどある。しかし・・・・捨てれない。。。好きなのばかりだ。(いつ聴くのだろ)

その中で、目についた思い出のカセットタイトルでここを調べたら・・・w(￣o￣)w オオー!あったあったＶ(○⌒∇⌒○) イエーイ

1960年代生まれとしては、この一本ぜひ手に入れておこう。
なんせ、私にとっては名曲揃いである。
特に(シャイン　ラブ)(ロンドン行き最終列車)などは、泣ける程好きだ

当時はシングルも同時に発売されていたので、アルバムのお徳感は少なかったと思う。
だけど今は当然ながらシングル売ってないんで、逆にその価値は完全に逆転した。（ボーナストラックもあるしね。）
このPOPさはもはや最強でしょう。
私はE.L.Oのもっさりしたリズムセンスの無さがハッキリ言って今だに好きになれない。
例を挙げるとこのアルバム中の「ドント・ブリング・ミー・ダウン」等はわかりやすいと思う。
垂れ流すようなリズムはいつ聞いてもちょっとイラッとくる。
だけどこのリズムに目をつぶれば、これほどのキラキラ感溢れるアルバムはそうは無いと思う。
ビートルズを思わせるポップ感覚をもつ同系の存在といえば、トッドラングレンを思い出すが、比べてもこれほどぎっしりタイトに纏まった粒ぞろいのアルバムは、出せていないと思う。
また、同じE.L.Oにおいても又、このアルバムを聞いてしまうとこれ以前のE.L.Oは凄く冗長に感じてしまう。
絶対一度は聞いてみたほうがいいって！（not越中詩郎）
