今年私が最もパンク的な衝撃を受けた曲は、THA BLUE HERBの「アンダーグラウンドvsアマチュア」である。“パンク”という言葉の意味はそれぞれの解釈に委ねられると思うが、UKにおけるセックス・ピストルズがそうであったように、また日本におけるブルーハーツがそうであったように、僕にとってのパンクとは、鋭敏な知性と強靱な意志の上に築かれる、電撃的な破壊と変革と創造だ。妄想的なまでの反骨心で既存のシーンに牙をむき、一歩も退かぬ覚悟で“きっと歴史は俺達を勝者に選ぶ”と吠えたてた彼らは、二年後ついにアルバム『SELL OUR SOUL』でシーンの中心点を撃ちぬいた。敗北を無言の前提とする“パンク精神論”が自明の理となりがちな現在だからこそ、私はあえて敗北を拒否し、自らが勝者＝変革者となることを宣言した「アンダーグラウンドvsアマチュア」に“パンク”という形容を捧げたい。

THA BLUE HERBは未来世紀日本が１番好き。BOSSに関しては好き嫌い分かれるだろうけど、このトラックは本当にかっこいいと思う。

　俺らがアンダーグラウンドの中のアンダーグラウンドであんな奴らより俺らのほうが上だというメッセージが込められていると思う。作品を作り続ける意味や他のアーティストの不満ややり方をこけおろし、シーンの上に立ってやるという自信などを語るＢＯＳＳ。
