いくつかSHM-CDを買って(ZEPじゃないけど)色々と聴き比べてみましたが、音質の違いがよく分かりませんでした。
音質とかあまり詳しくないので僕が分からないだけかも知れませんが、少なくとも千円近くも多く払って買うものではないと個人的には思います。
新しくリマスターされているならまだしも、94年の旧盤のやつですし。

UK仕様の紙ジャケが欲しい人にしか魅力のない再発かと。

紙ジャケの再現度よりも、まずは音を「マザーシップ」レベルにしてから
再発して欲しかったです。
ＳＨＭ−ＣＤより先にそっちでしょ。

内容はもちろん最高の名作ですが、今回は星ひとつ。

LED ZEPPELINの4枚目の作品。楽曲の前にこの
ジャケットはロック至上もっとも印象に残る
ジャケットではないだろうか？文字が書いてない
のだ。あえて題名をつけなかった作品として
ある種神秘性をもっている。といってセールス的に
売れなかったのかというと、アメリカだけでも2300万枚を
売り上げているモンスターアルバムだ。さて中身は「天国への階段」
が有名だが、1〜4のA面、5〜8のB面それぞれに起承転結があって
聴くものを飽きさせないし、陶酔させてくれる素晴らしい完成度だ。
シンプルで豪快な1stや2ndと比べると、おとなしくなった感は否めないが
「限りなき戦い」や「カリフォルニア」など前作のアコースティックな
流れを昇華した素晴らしい曲もあるし、「レヴィー・ブレイク」のように
どこか屈折した中にもドラムとギターが響き渡る名曲もある。

個人的にはこの作品がLED ZEPPELINの最高傑作だとは思わないけど
熟練した楽曲、題名をつけなかった精神も合わしてロック史に残る
名盤だと思う。是非どうぞ
