十数年前、「ゼオライマー」のストーリー展開にワクワクしたのを思い出します。

巨大ロボット軍団の「八卦ロボ」、人造生体の「八卦衆」、木原マサキの野望の代行者である「秋津マサト・幽羅帝」、これら登場人物が織り成す愛憎と、この物語の伏線であり真の主人公でもある木原マサキの野望が、重層的な構造を物語に与えています。

≪木原マサキは自分の死後目覚めるようにいくつかの布石を打った。八卦衆には相互に滅ぼし合うように人格にトラウマを封じ込め、木原マサキのクローン(秋津マサト・幽羅帝)には自分の野望の代行者となるようにプログラム設計したのである。≫

食傷気味だった巨大ロボット物の勧善懲悪ストーリーとは異質な、ゼオライマーのめくるめくストーリー展開は感動もの。ＤＶＤで!見!!直して、感動をあらたにしています。

巨大ロボットの「ゼオライマー」、モビルスーツタイプの「オーガン」の二つが、ロボット物ＯＶＡの個人的なオールタイムベストの双璧です。

　鉄甲竜---世界支配を目論む巨大秘密結社が、１５年の時を経て地底から浮上する！

　その武器は「八卦ロボ」---「月」「風」「火」「水」「地」「山」「雷」「天」の名を持つ、８体の巨大ロボット軍団。しかしそのうちの１体は、ある人物によって持ち出され、日本に隠されていた。その名は「天のゼオライマー」。

　平野俊貴監督は、ロボットの巨大感を演出することにいつもこだわり、この作品でも成功しています。特に第２話の市街地での戦闘シーンはロケハンの成果もあって大迫力！また、この作品は菊池通隆氏が初めてキャラデザインを手がけた、記念すべき作品でもあります。

　話が進むに連れて明らかになる謎と主人公達の宿命。単純な勧善懲悪でも、ハッピーエンドでもありません。主人公のマサキも決してヒーロータイプではないですし。ただ、この作品のラストシーン、私はとても好きです。

いや、ＬＤで買わなくてよかった。
それはさておき、次のスパロボにはぜひ登場してほしいですな
あ、でもそれだと敵になるかも・・・
とにかく全話入ってこの値段はやすいな、おすすめだよ
