このアルバムに収録されている「あの角をまがれば」。はじめて聞いたのは小学生の時で、実に20年前。当然子供だった私はこの曲のメロディーの美しさだけに捕らわれていました。しかし、いま時は流れて30歳を過ぎ。ようやくこの唄の意味が分かったような気がします。"..この道を通りながら　いつもそう思うのに　何故か曲がれない.."本当の自分はどこにでも行けて、自由な筈なのに世の中の「しがらみ」にまとわりつかれて、あるいはそんな自分に甘んじているのか...。身につまされたようでドキッとさせられました。人間、時代は変わっても、心の中はそうそう変わるもんじゃないです。

中学時代、アルバム当時はLPで購入しました。この中で一番好きな
別れの情景I＆IIが聞けるなんてとてもうれしかったです。
LPを購入したころの中学時代の初恋と失恋を思します。

アカペラの「プロローグ」にはぶっ飛んだ。小田の曲だと暫く思っていたが、ヤスの曲だった。ヤスの職人的凝り性が彷彿する始まり、続いてヤスの「はたちの頃」。この歌詞がいいんだな。「きみとはよく話したな、アパートの狭い部屋で　お互い認めあえずに夜更けまで話した」・・・「お互い認めあえず」なんて言葉、今時の若い人にはよく意味がわからないと思うけど、信念や思想をもった若者の青臭い真摯さのぶつかり合いがあった時代ってのは、ホント時代そのものが若かったと思う。

「わが友よ」は小田がヤスに向けた曲かなあと今でも思う。その二人が後年決裂してしまうとはこのとき思ってもみなかったろう。

この他にも、「あの角を曲がれば」「首輪のない犬」等、あまり知られていない名曲があるこのアルバムは、私の中学時代の思い出を呼び起こす宝物のようなアルバム。初期のオフコースを知らない人は、買って損をしないアルバム。
