   新沢基栄の学園ギャグ漫画「3年奇面組」「ハイスクール！奇面組」をTVアニメ化、1985年から2年間放送された作品。一応中学及び一応高校を舞台に、変人にしてやたらに個性的な顔の持ち主である一堂零、冷越豪、出瀬潔、大間仁、物星大の5人からなる奇面組と、彼らに興味を持つ河川唯、宇留千絵の2人を中心に、毎回ばかばかしい騒動が繰り広げられる。奇面組以外にも色男組、腕組、番組、御女組など、個性豊かなグループが続々登場、しかもすべて5人で構成されており、とにかくキャラクターの数が多いのも見どころ。アニメ化されるにあたり、当時人気絶頂だったおニャン子クラブから、ヒロインのイメージに沿う2人が選ばれて主題歌を担当したのも当時話題となった。（田中　元）

各キャラクターの強烈な個性が、これでもか！と、言うくらい話をひっぱり、他に無いギャクアニメの良さを見せている。私は最近になってこの作品と出会ったが、正直この作品の独特のセンスに感動した。
今の子供たちに見せても、世代を超えて親しめると思う。

約10年ほど前に少年ジャンプにて、連載、アニメ化してからも、
いろんなキャラで人たちのおもしろさはもちろん、癒しにも
匹敵するアニメ

当時少年ジャンプで連載されていたころ、「３年奇面組」でした。
当時からキャラクターのネーミングのすごさ（駄洒落）がインパクト大でした。
主人公グループは「いちどうれい」「れいえつごう」「しゅっせきよし」「だいまじん」「ものほしだい」（すべて駄洒落ですね・・・）
あーひらがなで書イメージがくずれるかな・・・
当時「れいえつごう」だけはピンとこなかった事を記憶しています・・・

しかも、私の記憶している中では、キャラクターの登場数では一番ではないでしょうか？（１組~１０組×５だけでも５０人！）
当時は友人と、どれだけのキャラクター名を覚えているかを競い合ったものです。

また、主題歌を歌っているのが、おニャン子クラブ出身の二人というのも懐かしいし、曲のタイトルが奇妙なのも必見（必聴！？）です。

そんな駄洒落がいたるところにちりばめられているこの作品
今見てもとても新鮮に感じられます。お勧めです！！
