イアン・カーティスの死に伴うジョイ・ディヴィジョン解散とニュー・オーダー結成後の、デビューアルバム『ムーブメント』リリースと時を同じくして行われた1981年のライヴは、ぎこちなく排他的、カルト的な雰囲気。
一方、1993年の活動停止以来5年ぶりの再結成後の1998年のライヴは、メンバーの体についた贅肉は気になるものの、全キャリア中で最も脂が乗っていると言ってよいポジティヴで勢いを感じさせるものとなっており、そのまったく性格の違う2つのライヴの対比が興味深い出来になっている。（麻路 稔）
