2000 年の作品。前作「Welcome」ではライブ感溢れるややロック寄りのバンドサウンドを試みましたが、今回は本来(?)のレールに戻った感があります。この「さかな」の音に pocopen さんのヴォーカルが乗っかると、もうそれだけで大好きなので、どのアルバムも一つ覚えのように褒めるばっかりになってしまうのですが、この作品も pocopen ワールド全開といった感じです。J-POPにあってこれほどのスケールと独自の世界感を持っているヴォーカリストってそういないんじゃないかな？それほどオンリー・ワン的な存在だと思います。

特にこのアルバムで強く感じることなのですが、近年の「さかな」のナンバーは単なる楽曲というよりもそれぞれが映画のようなんですよね。この作品を一枚通して聴くのと正味50分間で 11 編の短編映画を見終わったかのような感があるのです。その世界観にどっぷりと浸るため、是非歌詞カードを見ながら聴きたい一枚です。

最後に一つ、涙腺のユルい方や感受性の強い方は電車とか人ごみの中では 「19」 は聴かないほうがよいでしょう。

~公式ホームページでの西脇氏本人によるバイオグラフィーがあまりに面白く、
興味をひかれてこのアルバムを買いました。
ぼくは、Led Zeppelin IIIの、アコースティックな曲が持つ
強さと穏やかさと広大さを連想しましたが、
それはぼくがあまりにも音楽て稀ボキャブラリーがないからなのかも知れませんし、
~~
さかなという存在が、この上なくオリジナルだからかも知れません。
どんな音楽を聴いている人であろうと、気持ちが動かされるのではないでしょうか。~

~人々の悲しみをそのまま受け入れてくれるような力強さがある音楽です。
ミュージシャンの多くは、リスナーの心を揺さぶろうとします。悲しそうな曲で悲しくさせたり、元気の出そうな曲で勇気づけたりと。さかなの音楽からはそんな強引に感情を操作するようなものは感じません。
みんなそのままであることを良しとする音楽ではないでしょうか。
ぐぅっとブ~~ルーズ感のある曲達は、心を静かに落ち着かせてくれます。~
