最近では再結成BOW WOWの活動や矢沢永吉のツアー・バンドへの参加でロックンロールの瞬間燃焼感覚を改めて堪能しているはずのベテラン・ギター・マスター、山本恭司。しかしそれとは対照的に2年ぶりとなるオール・インストの本ソロ作品のテーマは“海”とのことで、こちらは感性の深みと濃淡をじっくり描き出すような落ち着いた風格漂う作品だ。スケール感あふれる叙情メロディを主役としながら、そのゆったりとした流れのハイライトには山本ならではの一音入魂の熱いギター・ワークが燃え上がる。情の深さが印象的。 (平野和祥) --- 2000年11月号

~山本恭司の最高傑作といって過言はないだろう。元々レンジの広いギターリストであり、矢沢永吉のツアーメンバーとしても活躍して、もはや実力的にはセンスも技術も最高に達した時期ではないだろうか。その時期にこのような作品をつくったことが非常に興味深い。ビブラート一つ一つに気持ちが込められている作品だ。絶対音楽を好きな人全てに聞いてもらいたい~~作品である。しかし本当に進化し続ける姿には敬服するあまりである。~
